Welcome Parents!
Each recital, we try to ease your mind by providing you as much information as possible about the experience from beginning to end!  Four weeks prior to the show, we have all participants join a Band App.  This will be the ONLY place we will post important reminders, links to practice dances, and detailed information about the shows.
You'll find answers to 100% of your questions on the band app after you have registered,

In the event you still can't find the information you need, please email us, at [email protected]

The Recital Shows will be Sunday, June 14th
**Your child performs one time in one of our five shows.**
Showtimes are: 9:30am, 11:30am, 2:00pm, 4:15pm, and 6:00pm
You will receive the EXACT  time your dancer performs 4 weeks prior to the show on May 14th.

On Recital Day, please plan to arrive no earlier than 30 minutes before showtime. That’s when we’ll open the theater and backstage area to start checking in dancers and allowing the audience into the theater.  If you come earlier, the backstage space and theater  won’t be open yet, so you’ll just be waiting around in line. Arriving right on time at the time listed on your child's costume bag helps everything run smoothly and keeps the excitement stress free for everyone! Please do not try to enter the theater before the doors are officially open and we are actively taking tickets.

Please clear the entire weekend if you wish to participate!
It is a big busy exciting weekend and you'll want the focus to be on the star of the family that weekend! We cannot accommodate special requests for recital and/or rehearsal times, and shows/rehearsals can run late depending on unforeseen circumstances.

Our shows are short and sweet, lasting about an hour. We make every effort to place siblings in the same show; however, this cannot be guaranteed. If they are scheduled separately, we ensure their shows will be back-to-back, and you only have to purchase tickets for one show.

TICKET SALES
*NEW FORMAT*
Due to the rising costs from online ticket providers, and in order to keep ticket prices as affordable as possible for our families,  we are changing the way we sell and distribute tickets. Tickets will be available for purchase in the studio starting May 14th rather than through an online provider.  By offering cash only ticket sales, we’re able to avoid extra fees and keep costs lower for everyone!

All tickets are general admission.
Advance tickets can be purchased at the studio for $12 (cash only).  Beginning recital weekend, June 13th, tickets prices will increase to $15 (cash only) and will only be available at venue on Costume Rehearsal Day or at the door on Recital Day.
In studio ticket sales will end June 12th at 7:30pm.
Please note: tickets cannot be replaced if lost.
There will be NO ONLINE TICKET SALES.

You may purchase an unlimited number of tickets in advance. A limited number of tickets will be available for guest purchase at the venue on recital day for $15 each (cash only).
*
On recital day, if cash is not available, and you or your guests need to use a credit or debit card, tickets will be $20 to cover processing fees. We kindly encourage you to remind your guests to bring cash when possible.

Lap children are free; however, anyone occupying a seat, regardless of age, must have a ticket. This policy helps ensure we do not oversell our shows.
One ticket is included with each child’s recital registration. This ticket is intended for the parent or guardian who will accompany the dancer to the holding room upon arrival and pick them up after the show.  This ticket will be provided in your child’s costume bag in the form of  wristband. The one adult who is responsible for drop off and pick up will need to wear and show the wristband to gain access to the holding room areas.
No additional adults are permitted in the holding room.
*If you have multiple children performing in the show, you will still receive only one wristband ticket in your oldest child's costume bag. The second ticket will be one of our regular tickets and will be included in your youngest child's costume bag.

Adults participating in the Sweetheart Dance do not need to purchase a ticket—their T-shirt serves as their admission. Sweetheart Dance T-shirts will be distributed at rehearsal.
Recital Volunteers also do not need a ticket and will be given a lanyard to wear to identify them as a volunteer.
Because our shows are small, we do not limit the number of guests you may bring. Accessible seating is readily available.
Dancers performing in the show do not need a ticket.

CARING FOR YOUR COSTUME
(Most costumes will be distributed beginning approximately May 7th)

It is important to know how to care for your costume leading up to the show!  Here are a few tips!
1.  Costumes are passed out at least two weeks prior to the show. We are at the mercy of costume vendors and sometimes they arrive in days and sometimes it takes weeks.
2. Try on your dancers costume on as soon as  you receive it preferably before you leave the studio. Hold the costume by the top of the bodice and pull it all the way up.  Make sure there are no sizing issues or defects. Please be mindful that not everyone participates in the recital.
3. Costumes are meant to fit SNUG. They do not fit like class wear and should have zero room for growth. They are made to fit on recital day only.
4. Costumes are not custom fit to your child, you might need to adjust a strap or make other small adjustments to get a good fit for your dancer.
5. If you think there is an issue notify us right away!  Please do not wait weeks after we pass out costumes to try it on!  email Miss Liz at [email protected] if you have a defect/size issue. If you wait too long to let us know and there is a legitmate issue we may not be able to help you, as costumes frequently go out of stock.
6. We will not exchange costumes that fit your dancer.  If we believe the costume fits, and you disagree, there is a $50 rush shipping fee/exchange fee if we are able to obtain a diffent size.
7.  Do NOT take the tights out of the packaging until the weekend of the show!  You don't want your dancer to wear them to class or risk tearing them before the recital. Tights look small, but they stretch like crazy! If you take them out of the packaging and hold them up to your child they're going to look like they don't fit but once they are on it's a different story!
8. No undies should be worn under tights!  Underwear are built in to recital tights so that the costume fits smoothly. Tights are a dancers underwear:) If you prefer even more coverage, skin tone leotards will be available for sale at the studio.
9.  If your costume has a tutu, fluff the tutu the week before the show.  It will be "squished" from being in the costume bag.  Pull apart layers of tulle or mesh for full fluffiness effect! Hang upside down.
10.   Tulle and mesh will likely be wrinkled from being in their storage bag.  DO NOT IRON THEM AS THEY WILL MELT!!!  Instead, hang it in the bathroom with the door closed while you shower and then smooth out the fabric by tugging on it slightly, you can also LIGHTLY steam if you wish with a hand held steamer.
11. Store the costume in the garment bag provided to you. It has all needed hair accessories and tights so that nothing is lost when you need it. Accessories cannot be replaced if lost! Plus it has all the recital details you will need right on the bag!
12. If your dancer feels the costume is "itchy" we have lots of tips and tricks! We have skin tone leotards available for purchase if your child would feel more comfortable with something under the costume.

COSTUME FIT

We carefully order each costume based on your child’s measurements, but please keep in mind that different styles may fit differently and they are not custom made for your child.  Not every costume will fit perfectly, minor adjustments like adding a safety pin or adjusting a strap may be needed, and these small fixes should be handled at home.
If you believe there is a significant fit issue, please attend one of our in person scheduled fitting sessions. At that time, we can assess the costume and determine if alterations or a reorder are necessary. The final decision for a re-order or alterations will be made by our staff.
Before attending a fitting, please make sure the costume is pulled up fully from the bodice and worn properly. Costumes are designed to fit more snugly than class wear and should not have extra growing room.
Please note:
-Costumes cannot be exchanged simply because a dancer does not like how they feel or prefers their clothes to fit loosely. We recommend that a skin-tone leotard may be worn underneath for comfort if needed if your dancer has sensory issues or feels the costume is "itchy".  We will have these on hand available for purchase.
-Teachers are not able to assist with costume fit concerns, these must be addressed at a fitting session.
-If you feel your child's costume does not fit, you must attend an in person scheduled fitting session.
-We cannot guarantee assistance with sizing issues if you do not attend a fitting session or if concerns are brought to us too late. If you wait too long the costume may go out of stock or will not arrive in time for the show!
Thank you for helping us ensure every dancer looks and feels their best on stage by letting us know any concerns within 24 hours of receiving the costume.
Please contact your studio immediately if you have a costume fit concern.

HAIR & MAKEUP
We want the recital to be a stress free day and we know how much stress hair and makeup can often add to this!  Please do not feel that you have to apply heavy makeup to your dancer - it should be natural and maintain their natural beauty being a child.  Watch the video below for some great tips and guidelines.
BOPPERS PARENT INFO
If your child is a Bella Bopper  (Ages 18months-2.5 years)  in this show, this info is just for you :)  There is nothing like watching Boppers in their first recital! The key differences for the Boppers are unlike the other age groups, you will stay with your dancer during their entire recital experience.  You will stay with your child during the entirety of the show from the beginning till the end.  The week prior to the show your teacher will give you more specific directions about when to come to the backstage area. You will still need to show your parent wristband to gain access to backstage.  After you accompany them on stage, you are welcome to take them back into the audience to watch the rest of the show! Boppers love to watch the recital!
Before the show, we will give you a "seat saver" so that your family can reserve your spot in the audience!
Bopper photos are taken the week prior to the recital in the studio only.
We do not photograph Boppers on Costume Rehearsal Day so they can feel comfortable and get the extra care and attention it takes to get great photos of our tiniest dancers and we can try again if anyone is having a difficult day:)

RECITAL DAY CHECK IN & OUT SAFETY PROTOCOL
 *ENHANCED BACKSTAGE SECURITY*
When every parent knows what the protocols are, it helps all of our dancers stay safe!  With so many little ones under the age of 10, it's a big responsibility to keep track of everyone and ensure everyone is going home with the right party: it's one we take very seriously, and parent cooperation is key.
New This Year Backstage Check-In & Check-Out System
To help keep all of our performers safe and organized, we’re excited to introduce a new backstage check-in and check-out process.
Each child will receive a Backstage Pass with a unique QR code. This pass will be sent to the phone number and email we have on file prior to recital day. You can access it on your phone or bring a printed copy.
On recital day, you’ll show your wristband and then proceed to one of our kiosk stations. You will then use your child’s Backstage Pass at one of the kiosk stations to check them in to the backstage holding rooms. You’ll also receive text updates when your child is checked in and checked out.
For pickup, a parent wristband will be required. Only the one parent wearing the wristband will be allowed into the backstage area. You will then proceed to the backstage area and find your performer. Then use the backstage pass again at a kiosk to check out your child .
The combination of your wristband and your child’s Backstage Pass will be the only way our staff can release performers from backstage.
We appreciate your support in helping us implement this new safety procedure and ensure a smooth, secure experience for all of our dancers! It might take a little longer but the added safety will be worth it
One parent wristband  comes with your registration in your child's costume bag, this is also your ticket to the show.
It has your last name on it.  If you have multiple children you will receive one parent wristband and one ticket to the show in your children's costume bag. Only the person wearing this wristband is allowed in the holding room, and is the ONLY person allowed to drop off and/or pick up your child.   If at any point during the show we need you to come to your child, we will call this name out over the microphone in the auditorium, and/or text you to say where we need you to go (holding room, backstage, etc).
As the show ends, p
lease wait in your seats in the theater patiently until ALL of the dancers are safely back in the holding room.
This is for the safety of our dancers as they travel back to the holding room for pick up

After the show, please help us by asking all of your guests to exit through the main doors of the Building.
PLEASE DO NOT HAVE EVERYONE TRY TO COME INTO THE HOLDING ROOM OR BACKSTAGE AREA .
We know it's exciting and everyone wants to see their dancer for hugs after the show, but it's important to have other parents and guests wait in the main hallways or outside to avoid more chaos than is necessary upon pickup, and to keep everyone safe. Only the ONE person wearing the wristband will be allowed to pick up children.
We cannot stress this enough, please do not try to enter the backstage area unless you are wearing the wristband, even if our staff knows you!  We will turn you away, and this puts our staff in a very uncomfortable position. Please do not try to bypass our safety entrances and try to take a short cut to get backstage.
We have hired security guards to check wristbands, and they will not let anyone through without a wristband.  Once you enter the holding room for pickup, please check in with your dancer's chaperone to check them out, do not just remove them. You need to let somebody know you are there and picking up. You will then proceed to a checkout kiosk to check out your child using their Back Stage Pass. Yes, this will take a little longer than in the past, but we truly believe it is worth it for the safety of our dancers.

Following these new enhanced safety procedures helps everyone stay safe!

BACKSTAGE ACTIVITIES
After checking your child in on the day of the recital, they'll experience a ton of fun activities backstage!  We have activity stations in the holding room as they make their path to the big stage.  The entire time they'll be supervised by our event team, and parent volunteers who will work to ensure that dancers are both staying safe and having fun.  Some of the stations they'll experience are:  Sticker sheets, coloring pages, practicing their bows and much more!  We also love parent help backstage!
Back Stage Bathrooms
Please take your child to the bathroom prior to dropping them off backstage. If they need to use the bathroom during the show, if there is time, we will call your name over the microphone. If it's an emergency, they will be accompanied to the bathroom by a staff member.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS
Parents are always welcome to be backstage volunteers!  They are an integral part of our show and we love having their warm, caring and responsible personalities to help us out.  We will send an email four weeks before the show asking for volunteers, and if selected will be required to attend a meeting Saturday, June 6th, prior to the recital.
Each class will have one volunteer only. If you cannot attend the volunteer meeting unfortunately you will not be able to be a parent volunteer.

Please do not volunteer if you have multiple children in the show. You will be required to stay with the class you are assigned to, and cannot leave that class to go watch your other child dance, and cannot have your other child stay with you.

It is important that volunteers know that:
- Once you submit to volunteer, you are responsible for finding a replacement should you no longer be able to participate and inform the studio at least two weeks prior to the event.
-You are required to go ON STAGE with the class for the finale so the class is always supervised.
-You will be actively helping the class with crafts, games, and activities.
-Please no cell phone use backstage.
-We love siblings but they cannot be backstage with you when you are a volunteer.

-You will actively help check in dancers and check them out, double check parent wristbands, and cannot leave until every child from your group is safely with their parents.
- During your dancer's performance, and if they participate in the Sweetheart Dance you will have the option of watching them dance from backstage OR going to sit in the front row, and then return to their class to escort them back to the holding room.
- YOU MUST STAY WITH YOUR CHILD'S CLASS FROM WHEN YOU ARRIVE AND THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRETY OF THE SHOW INCLUDING ON STAGE DURING THE FINALE.  THERE IS NO OPTION TO OPT OUT AND WATCH THE FINALE FROM BACKSTAGE, OR TO SWITCH OUT ANOTHER PARENT OR PERSON FOR YOUR STATION AT ANY POINT DURING THE RECITAL, OR LEAVE EARLY.
-Please do not volunteer if you are looking to just sit with your child because they might be nervous, or you've never left them before. This takes up the space that we need backstage for active class volunteers who are ready and willing to work with the entire class.
We promise they will be fine, loved, and well cared for!
-Volunteers get a FREE ticket to the show.

-We cannot accept everyone who volunteers:(  While we wish we could have all the parents, there is just not enough room in the back stage holding rooms. If we get multiple volunteers for a class we will select who will be the one classroom volunteer at random. Thank you so much for your understanding.

RECITAL PHOTOS
Professional photos of students in Bunnies, Butterflies, and Ballerinas, in their costumes will be taken at the COSTUME REHEARSAL.  All Bella Boppers will be photographed at your studio location the week prior to the show. We've found the tiniest dancers do much better at the studios where it is familiar to them.
Photo download packages will be available for purchase about four weeks prior to the show. When the  package becomes available, we will post on the Band App and you will receive additional information about when and where to have your child's photos taken.  Photos are optional and are a separate cost.   Sometimes, if the photographer has space we will open times up the week prior to the recital.  No photos will be taken backstage.
Our photographers go through every photo for a quality check and since they take thousands of photos,  it takes at least six weeks for parents to receive the link to the photos.  All photos are digital download only.  You will receive digital access to all photos taken and get a digital download code.  Access to the photos will only be available on our recital Band App.  No prints will be distributed.  If you missed the pre-purchase, you can still purchase and have photos taken the day of Costume Rehearsal at the venue.
